Halloween has gone and we're into November. Firework night is tomorrow and John Lewis and Marks & Spencer have launched their Christmas advertising campaigns so if there was an official start to the festive season, this must be it!
We've been working energetically to bring in new stock with many seasonal delights among them and we're starting to get the store dressed up for Yuletide. We're seeing many visitors into the shop telling us they are gathering present ideas and promising to return so we will be delighted to see them if they don't get seduced by the high street multiples!
For an independent retailer, Christmas is a hugely important time. It's an opportunity to build sales to nurse us through the leaner new year weeks, but we realise we'll only get the custom we deserve if we have the right products, the best service and fair pricing, all of which we work hard at to excel.
We will be opening for two late night shopping events. The first is on Thursday 25th November and the second on Thursday 9th December. The shop will stay open until 8.00pm on both nights and we will be distributing complimentary prosecco, mulled wine and mince pies to keep our customers warm and nourished.
Look out for our special Christmas leaflets which include a 10% off voucher to spend up until Christmas.
Finally, we will be taking To You From Me Gifts to a couple of local Christmas Fairs
